Klaus Riedle was born on August 12, 1941 in Innsbruck, Austria.
In 1964 he graduated from the Technical University of Munich.
After graduation and till 1969 he was working as an Assistant Researcher. From 1969 to 1971 he was a Professor of Carnegie University, USA. Riedle was dealt with the development of units Westingaus W501 FD and W 501G which were used in 1999 as a basis for bringing into operation of the largest machine in the world (60 Hz 501G) at an electric power station in Lake Land, Florida. Riedle was awarded with a title of Honorary Professor of Granfield University and University of Erlangen. He is the leading world specialist in the sphere of gas turbine energetics. Under his scientific supervision the last generations of highly efficient gas turbines of Siemens company have been developed. The technology of the machines of Series 3A Siemens is the leading one in the world and for ten years it has been showing a high degree of reliability and efficiency in more than 113 gas turbines with the operating time of more than 1500000 hours. Riedle has written a great number of articles, monographs and patents in the field of energetics.
At present Klaus Riedle heads the Scientific Developments Department for high-temperature energetic turbines of Siemens.
In 2005 Klaus Riedle became a Laureate of the Global Energy International Prize for development and creation of powerful high-temperature gas turbines for steam and gas power plants.
