RECOGNISING OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENTS IN ENERGY

The Global Energy Prize annually honors outstanding achievements in energy research and technology from around the world that are helping address the world’s various and pressing energy challenges.

The application period for “The Energy of Start” program continues for several more days

II All-Russian program “The Energy of Start” for school students will unite more than 1000 scholars from 14 regions of Russia. The program’s purpose is to popularize the knowledge about energy among children and youth, as well as to reveal senior grade students highly interested in working in energy field.

The program has been organized by the “Global Energy” Association and “Nadezhnaya smena” fund. Within the program framework in 2016-2017 the contest of engineering solutions will be organized. The contest has been held since 2011.

In 2016-2017 the contest format will be extended for the first time: 7-10 grade students will have a chance to participate.

The contest topic is “Energy efficiency in my house”. The topic has been chosen for a reason – this year the contest will be held in support of the All-Russian festival on energy efficiency #Vmesteyarche. The festival ambassador in Russia is the Global Energy Prize laureate 2015 Shuji Nakamura. Within the topic individual participants or teams up to 3 people are expected to make energy equipment. Winners will be given an opportunity to present their project during the laureates’ week in Saint Petersburg in the framework of Saint Petersburg International Economic Forum.

What is important - “The Energy of Start” best participants will be included in the training program for entering specialized energy universities and labor pool of Russian energy companies.

“The Energy of Start” program is oriented at teenagers. The main factor – career guidance and selection of the most intelligent, talented and popular on the energy labor market for the nearest future”, - notes the “Global Energy” Association president Igor Lobovsky.

Participation in the contest not only allows senior students to choose their future career, but also to meet in person the best scientists in energy field – the Global Energy Prize laureates.


Application period lasts up to 01.12.2016
Projects for the contest are admitted up to 01.03.2017
The contest results will be announced on March 31, 2017
