In the framework of the program Energy of Knowledge, laureate of the Global Energy Prize 2017 Michael Graetzel met with colleagues from Moscow State University. He took part in the seminar of the Laboratory of New Materials for Solar Energy (Faculty of Materials Science and the Faculty of Chemistry of Moscow State University) and he discussed further ways of developing a joint project on perovskite solar cells with the young scientists of the University.

The Global Energy Prize Award Ceremony will be held at Saint Petersburg International Economic Forum on June 2, 2017. The 2017 laureate – Swiss scientist Michael Graetzel – is expected to be awarded with the golden medal by the President of Russian Federation Vladimir Putin. The prize fund amounts to 39 million rubles.

The 15th solemn Global Energy Prize Award ceremony for the laureate Michael Graetzel who is the world-recognized global leader in the field of solar energy is due in two weeks. The scientist is recognized for transcendent merits in development of low cost and efficient solar cells, known as «Graetzel cells», aimed to creation of cost-efficient, large-scale engineering solutions for power generation. The Swiss chemist will be awarded by the President of Russia, and will receive a monetary reward of 39 million rubles.
