The Global Energy Prize annually honors outstanding achievements in energy research and technology from around the world that are helping address the world’s various and pressing energy challenges.

Leaders of energy thought will consider the opportunities for the development of new technologies at the hydrocarbons era

The era of hydrocarbons is an open opportunity for the development of new technologies; laureates of the Global Energy Prize are convinced. The topic will be at the  spotlight on the second day of the Global Energy Prize Summit` 2017, which will be held on October 5 in Moscow. The event will be one of the key events of the Energy Efficiency and Energy Development International Forum - ‘Russian Energy Week’ (REW).

Leaders of energy thought, laureates of the Global Energy Prize, as well as members of the International Award Committee will gather to discuss the current problems of the industry and offer options for their integrated solutions. The sixth theme in the Summit's history will be Three E (Economics, Ecology, Energy) Synthesis Formation as a health factor of the Earth: The Hydrocarbon Epoque – Opportunities for New Technology Development.

Most experts are sure that by 2050 hydrocarbons will continue to occupy a leading position in the world fuel and energy balance. How will their dominance among primary energy resources affect the global ecology? What long-term national energy strategies will the states produce? How technologies of extraction of non-traditional hydrocarbon reserves will be improved and that will allow using fossil fuels in a cleaner and effective way - these and other issues will be discussed during the event.

The moderator of the event will be Oksana Derevianko-Gozzi, the head of business programs and economic observer of the Russia Today TV channel.
