The Energy of Adventure project aims to show people from different countries that the issues of energy-efficiency, energy-saving and energy security are not just idle talk amongst politicians, but issues that touch every family in every house, village, town and country around the world. The project is designed to make the most of younger generation’s energy and enthusiasm to inspire youth, and the young at heart, to learn about the earth’s current energy challenges and realise that the future of humanity depends on their decisions, determination, and curiosity.

This project is a highly engaging and entertaining exploration of the various ways energy touches people around the world.  Two young people from Russia, a male and a female aged between 18 and 26, will have the opportunity to take part in the adventure of a lifetime – a round-the-world trip to discover the most interesting energy related stories of the planet. Over the period of three months the young couple will travel through 22 different destinations in 21 countries ‘backpacker style’, staying in each location for just a few days. In each place, they will meet with people and organisations with interesting energy stories to share – whether this is a new technological innovation for the creation or dissemination of energy, a creative approach to using energy in an efficient way, or a unique energy problem to overcome. This journey will be shared with the world through both social and traditional media.

The Energy of Adventure will become a future-focussed celebration of global cooperation, inquiring minds and thoughtful discussion. It is likely that the world will realise that caring for the environment and learning new ways to tackle its challenges is not simply the preserve of western nations, but like the challenge itself, borderless.
