On an annual basis, since 2008, the Global Energy Foundation has held the All-Russian Children's Energy Project Contest titled 'Energy of Kids' under its overall youth program. The Contest is held among children aged from five to seventeen.
The main theme of the Energy of Kids Contest may seem complex and puzzling to its young participants. However, it should serve to indicate a child's creativity level. The organizers of the Contest are not predominantly occupied with artistic skills: their main idea is to capture a child's potential towards developing a creative approach to visualization of the world around us. The main goals of the Energy of Kids Contest are popularizing the key energy concepts among children and youth, shaping a positive and responsible attitude to this area of human activity in their minds, enhancing their creative thinking abilities.
The following projects can be accepted for the Contest:
- literary works of different genres;
- pictures sized no less than А4;
- computer graphics projects;
- photographs and amateur videos;
- miniature models;
- musical compositions.
All the competing projects must be in line with the main theme of the Energy of Kids Contest.
All the competitors are separated into three age groups: up to eight years, nine to thirteen years and fourteen to seventeen years. Winners are elected for each age group. The final decision with respect to the number of winners is made by the Jury of the Child Energy Contest. The winner receives a diploma entitling him/her to the Grand Prix of the Contest and a money prize in the amount of fifteen thousand rubles. The participants awarded the first, the second and the third places receive diplomas as Contest winners.
